New Knitting Pattern Releases: Constantine Hat and Mittens

by | Nov 17, 2012 | Arts and Crafts, Knitting, Knitting Patterns

The Constantine hat and mittens set were designed at Constantine Bay, Cornwall, while I sat knitting on the beach watching my beau surfing in the sea. I’d already got the yarn and made a few swatches, and decided on this pattern as the cables reminded me of ripples in the sand.

The hat, suitable for both men and women, is available in three different sizes; small (approx 53-56cm/21-22.5”), medium (approx 57-59cm/22.5-23.5”) and large (approx 60-62cm/23.5-24.4”) and is knitted on 5mm needles.

It knits up within a couple of days and the pattern is quite memorable, however, there is also a chart for those of you that prefer and instructions for left and right handed knitters.  Without the pompom it makes a really cute beanie hat.

The mittens come in four different sizes – small (19cm/7.5” around palm), medium (20.5cm/8” around palm), large (23cm/9” around palm) and x large (25.5cm/10” around palm). Also unisex, these mitts are really cosy as the cables thicken the fabric to keep your hands snug.
